Recovery time

Nothing makes you realize just how old you've actually become quite like going out to celebrate your own birthday. Each year you spend one night partying like you're back in college, and each year it takes you longer to recover than it did the year before.

When you were in college, you could party like a rock-star, get home at 6:00 AM, sleep until noon and then have a relatively productive day, and maybe even go out again the next night.

When you're pushing 30, you wake up the next day feeling like death-warmed over, unable to even get out of bed until 9:00 PM, and you need to take a week-and-a-half off from work just to recover.

  • That being said, I'm pretty sure "Kevin's Birthday: The Remix" is still on.

  • Damn! Wish I could have been there...although seeing that I'm a little closer to pushing 30, I'm not sure I would have made it through the night.

  • Happy Belated birthday :)

Keep in mind though, that you're not actually OLD until you decide it's not worth it to have to sleep it off. Once you start thinking in terms of 'wasting a day' then you're screwed.

And I find that the sleeping it off? So much easier when there's someone else laying there with you feeling equally crappy as you :)
